Except for Archaeopteryx which became extinct 151 million years ago, all these birds are extinct because of human activity such as hunting, habitat destruction by logging, dam building, urbanization, agriculture, pollution or introduced predators. There are many more extinct birds than these and the rate of extinction is increasing. This is an ongoing project.
